Peninsula Kiwanis Honors 4th Precinct Officer

On April 11^th, Peninsula Kiwanis presented their Louis Costa Humanitarian Award to 4^th Precinct Officer John Zanni at Angelina’s in Lynbrook. He was selected for his long-time commitment to the Five Towns. John has proactively reached out to the community. John has established relationships with the schools and community organizations in order to foster positive interactions between the community and the police. One of his many accomplishments was helping to organize a basketball game between the Police and the Lawrence H.S. Football team. Peninsula Kiwanis has held this annual event every year since 1973.

Police Officer Zanni’s family was present to witness him receiving this honor. Many dignitaries from the Nassau County Police Department were on hand, including: NCPD Commissioner Pat Ryder, Tara Comiskey, Deputy Inspector of the 4^th Precinct, Lt. Leslie Moulds and several officials of the PBA. Many of our elected officials attended including: Assembly Women Missy Miller, TOH Supervisor Laura Gillen, Councilman Bruce Blakeman, Councilman Anthony D’Esposito and Village of Cedarhurst Trustee Israel Wasser. In addition, long time Kiwanian and former TOH Supervisor Anthony Santino also stopped by.
