PSEG Long Island Workers Donate $1,600 In Holiday Toys For Kids

The utility company distributed toys to several agencies across the island.

UNIONDALE, NY — The holidays are a chance to give back to the less fortunate. PSEG Long Island employees did their part with a collection drive for children.

More than $1,600 in toys, games and money was donated to purchase gifts.

Nearly 400 large and small gifts, ranging from dolls to trucks, were handed out at various agencies on Long Island. The Nassau County locations were:

  • Five Towns Community Center in Lawrence
  • Long Island Council of Churches in Freeport
  • Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Roosevelt
  • Hempstead Hispanic Civic Association
  • Mary Brennan INN Soup Kitchen and Center for Transformative Change Resource Center in Hempstead
  • NAACP Hempstead Branch

The utility company also sent hand-written holiday cards to 1,000 families on Long Island. They were given candy canes, LED night lights or large print puzzle books. Cards were delivered to hospitals, senior centers including:

  • The Bristol Assisted Living communities across the island
  • The Northwell Health Orzac Center for Rehabilitation in Valley Stream
  • EAC Network Senior Community Service Center in North Merrick, distributed through
    the agency’s Meals on Wheels program
