Queens Woman Assaulted Nassau Officer After Large Fight: Police
Police say they broke up a large fight, and then one woman there started acting erratically before she attacked an officer.

A Far Rockaway woman was arrested early Monday morning after police say she assaulted an officer who was investigating a fight in Inwood.
According to police, officers responded to a large fight in front of 385 Bayview Ave. in Inwood around 6:15 a.m. When they arrived, the officers broke up the fight and started an investigation.
During the investigation, police say that Naomi Merle, 22, of Redfern Avenue, began acting erratically and was screaming at and threatening officers. When the officers tried to place her into custody, police say she punched and kicked one of them. Police placed her under arrest and took her to a local hospital for treatment. Police say they found marijuana on her during her arrest.

Merle is charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana. She was arraigned on Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
