Police ID Man Killed In Nassau Shooting

Police say an argument with someone in a car escalated to violence, leaving one dead and two wounded.

UPDATE, JUNE 11: Police have identified the man who was killed as Shamel Williams, 30, of Jamaica, Queens.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: One man was killed and two others wounded in a shooting in Roosevelt just after midnight Sunday.

According to Newsday, the three men were standing together on West Fulton Avenue around midnight when a car pulled up. The men got into an argument with someone in the car, and then a person in the car pulled out a gun and started shooting.

News 12 reported that one of the victims, who was 21, was shot in the lower back. Another victim, 26, was shot in the knee. The third victim, a 30-year-old man, was shot in the chest.

Police say that officers responded to the scene after receiving ShotSpotter notifications. The three victims were taken to local hospitals, but the 30-year-old man, who police have not yet identified, died at 12:32 a.m. from his injuries. The other two men are in stable condition.
