Heat Advisory Issued For Parts Of Long Island
Temperatures will feel close to 100 degrees today and tomorrow, officials say. Stay cool and indoors if possible.
LONG ISLAND, NY — A heat advisory is in effect for most of Long Island Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures climb back into the 90s.
The advisory is in effect from noon today until 8 p.m. tomorrow. It covers northwest Suffolk County and all of Nassau County.
Temperatures will be in the 90s, but humidity will make it feel even hotter. According to the National Weather Service, it could feel like 100 degrees in some areas.

Seniors and those with chronic health conditions are most likely to feel the effects of heat-related illness. Symptoms of heat-related illnesses may include: headache, dizziness, fatigue, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, and low pulse rate. Other symptoms may include cold pale and clammy skin or hot, flushed dry skin.
Anyone experiencing symptoms of heat illness should immediately get into a cool, shady area to lower their temperature. For severe heat illness, call 911.
