Man Killed After Being Hit By 2 Cars: Nassau Police

One of the drivers involved fled the scene, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

FREEPORT, NY — A man was killed after being hit by two cars in Freeport Wednesday night, and police are searching for one of the drivers involved.

According to police, a 32-year-old man was crossing Henry Street in Freeport at 6:20 p.m. when he was hit by a 2013 Chevrolet SUV heading south on Henry Street. The driver, a 67-year-old man, remained at the scene.

While the victim was lying in the street, he was hit by a sedan that was also heading south. Police say the driver of the sedan stopped, but then left the scene.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors at 6:52 p.m.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
