Missing Elmont Woman Located, Police Say
56-year-old Janina Brooks was found after last being seen Sunday at noon in Elmont, police say.
ELMONT, NY — The search for a 56-year-old woman ended Monday after police said she had been located.
Nassau County police previously said 56-year-old Janina Brooks had last been seen at 12 p.m. Sunday in Elmont, and was leaving her residence at Mercy Medical Center. Her possible destination, police said, was unknown.
Police had encouraged anyone with information about Brooks’ whereabouts to contact missing persons at 516-573-7347, or call 911.

As of Monday evening, however, police said Brooks had been located.
