Season Ticket Holder Complains; Lack Of Accessible UBS Parking

ELMONT, NY — The Islanders are about to unveil their new UBS Arena at Belmont Park. But controversy is ensuing leading up to its Nov. 20 debut.

One season ticket holder, after getting a tour of the facilities and grounds, is complaining that parking is inadequate for people with disabilities, Newsday reported.

Charles Razenson, 68, and his wife, who badly injured in a car crash, were informed they would need to park a half-mile from the arena, although a shuttle bus would be provided, the article said.

Razenson has filed a complaint with the state's Division of Human Rights and Nassau County Consumer Affairs.

UBS Arena said the parking situation remains preliminary and they will have a detailed ADA plan ahead of the opening next weekend, Newsday reported.
