Second Burlington Storefront Coming To Green Acres Mall, Town Announces

The Hempstead Industrial Development Agency announced Tuesday that it had approved a lease for a second Burlington Coat Factory.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — The Hempstead Industrial Development Agency approved a lease to open a second Burlington location at the Green Acres Mall Monday, clearing the way for the discount coat sales giant to move into an almost 93,000-square-foot space at the mall.

The first Burlington opened in Green Acres Commons — the outdoor shopping center adjacent to Green Acres Mall — in 2016, officials said.

Formerly billed as "Burlington Coat Factory," Burlington rebranded in the mid-2010s in an effort to "communicate that Burlington is 'more than just coats.'"

The lease agreement comes just over two years after the IDA extended a pair of payment in lieu of taxes agreement to Burlington, which had previously been signed in 2015, town officials said.
