Special Book Donation Commemorates MLK Day In 5 Towns

HEWLETT, NY — One local non-profit organization honored Martin Luther King Jr. with a volunteer program.
Hindi's Libraries of Hewlett partnered with members of the Five Towns Orthodox Feminists on Monday.
Hindi’s Libraries collects new and gently used children’s books and ships them to nonprofits worldwide at no cost to the recipient throughout the year, but it took on special meaning for King's birthday.

"We couldn't think of a better way to spend our day of service than by honoring a woman who was part of our community and whose legacy spreads both joy and the power of literacy to children near and far," Orly Farbenblum, a volunteer from the Feminist group, said.
