Support the Lustgarten Foundation's Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk

A Patch employee will be participating in the Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk in memory of her mother.

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States today and the overall survival rate is only a dismal 7 percent. It is known as the “silent killer cancer” because its symptoms may not be uniquely attributable to the disease. More often than not, a person is diagnosed after the cancer has already metastasized.

The Lustgarten Foundation supports research and helps raise money to find better treatments, early screenings and a finding cure. Thanks to Cablevision’s commitment and support, 100 percent of every dollar donated to The Lustgarten Foundation goes directly to pancreatic cancer research.

The Lustgarten Foundation holds several Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk/Run events a year and has raised more than $27 million to date. Recently the mother of one of our Patch employees lost her battle to this deadly disease. In memory of her mother, she will be participating in the Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk at Pier 84, Hudson River Park in New York City, on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
