HEWLETT, NY — The Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre is ready to build a new playground.

The synagogue received a significant donation from longtime congregant Barry Borodkin. Additional funds came from a state grant.

Borodkin was inspired to make the donation because of his family's love of the synagogue. He also said it was his desire to make the Early Childhood Center and the synagogue a strong presence in the community for years to come.
