Teen Robbed By 5 People In Nassau: Police
A robber displayed a silver knife and took a swing at the boy, 16, police say. The robbers stole his phone, backpack and shoes, police say.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — Five people robbed a teenager in Valley Stream on Thursday afternoon, Nassau police said.
A 16-year-old boy was walking on Hawthorne Avenue near the train station when five males he did not know approached him at 3:25 p.m., police said. One of the robbers took a swing at the victim while displaying a silver knife, police said. The teenager, while fearful, police said, broke free from the robbers after a brief struggle, police said. The boy left behind a backpack, cell phone and sneakers that came off his feet while running away, police said. The robbers ran off with the stolen items, police said.
No injuries were reported, and detectives said they are looking for the robbers.

The robbers were described as male, Hispanic, with medium builds, dark-colored clothing, and black face masks, police said.
