Town Of Hempstead COVID-19 Mobile Vaccine Unit Returns This Week

Residents can get the free vaccine Tuesday in Lawrence and Wednesday in Elmont.

LAWRENCE, NY — Long Island has some of the best vaccination rates in the state and the country. But since not everyone has got the shot yet, the Town of Hempstead is still sending out its mobile COVID-19 unit.

This week it will make stops in the Five Towns and Elmont.

On Tuesday, the Vaxmobile, also organized by Mount Sinai South Nassau, will be available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Five Towns Community Center in Lawrence.

It heads to Elmont Memorial High School on Wednesday, where it is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Walk-ups are accepted at both locations, but reservations are preferred.
