Town Of Hempstead Vaxmobile Visits Valley Stream On Friday

VALLEY STREAM, NY — The latest numbers from the state indicate 1.5 million people in Long Island have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. While that's second-most in the state, behind only the city's 5.5 million, there is still plenty of room for protection as Long Island has a total population of over 7.5 million.

The Town of Hempstead, in coordination with Mount Sinai South Nassau, is hosting the Vaxmobile in Valley Stream.

The vaccines will be available Friday at the Valley Stream Car Show, located at 195 Rockaway Ave.

Walk-ups are allowed, but scheduling in advance is preferred. Appointments can be made at 516-812-3678 or by submitting the online form.

The mobile vaccination unit will be on hand from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
