Nassau Man Among 4 Arrested For Speeding, Illegal Guns: State Police

The men were clocked at over 100 mph on a Hudson Valley highway Sunday night.

YONKERS, NY — A Valley Stream man was part of a quartet arrested by state troopers after authorities said they were caught speeding on a Westchester highway and had illegal guns.

Jalen Irwin, 19, of Valley Stream, and three other men from Queens were taken into custody for illegal possession of two handguns, according to authorities.

Irwin and the three other men were arraigned before the City of Yonkers Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, $30,000 bond or $45,000 partially secure bond.

On Oct. 30, troopers said they spotted a BMW 440 traveling over 100 mph on the Sprain Brook Parkway. Troopers followed the car to Tuckahoe Road and pulled the vehicle over. Police said they found two loaded handguns in the car, a .380 Ruger LCP, and a 9MM Smith & Wesson SD9 VE.­­­

Irwin was arrested for felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (large capacity ammunition feeding device).
