Wanted For Attempted Murder, Inwood Man Arrested At Target: Police

NORTH LAWRENCE, NY — An Inwood man, wanted for attempted murder, was spotted in a Target store on Friday morning and placed in custody, police said.

Raquan Howard, 23, was at the store on Rockaway Turnpike in North Lawrence when officers recognized him at the self-checkout register. They attempted to place him under arrest, but Howard became physically combative, police said.

An off-duty Nassau County police officer assisted in the arrest.

The officers and Howard were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Howard was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned when medically practical, police said.
