Warming Centers in Nassau County Now Open

With temperatures reaching below 25 degrees on Long Island, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Hempstead Town Supervisor Anthony J. Santino both announced the opening of several warming center locations on Tuesday.

“I invite neighbors who don’t have enough heat to seek shelter at one of the town’s 16 warming centers,” Santino said. “Freezing temperatures can be dangerous for everyone, especially seniors, who may have a hard time regulating their body temperature and staying warm.”

The Town warming centers will be open from Tuesday until Friday, January 22 from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Warming centers can be found at the following locations:

NASSAU COUNTY:

• Cantiague Park Ice Rink - 480 W. John Street, Hicksville
• Nickerson Beach Park - Lido Boulevard, Lido Beach
• Grant Park - Broadway and Sheridan Avenue, Hewlett
• Christopher Morley Park - Searingtown Road, North of LIE, Roslyn/North Hills
• Mitchel Field Admin Center - 1 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, Uniondale

TOWN OF OYSTER BAY:

• TOB Ice Skating Center at Bethpage - 1001 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage.
• William P. Bennett Community Center - 28 Carl Street, Hicksville
• Marjorie Post Community Park - Unqua and Merrick Road, Massapequa

VILLAGE OF ROCKVILLE CENTRE:
