HEMPSTEAD, NY — Another round of anti-Semitic flyers have been distributed to parts of Nassau County, in particular, they were found in the Five Towns and Freeport over the weekend.

Town of Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin, a guest on Monday's "Patch AM," who was alerted by a rabbi on Saturday night, did not mince words as to reaction.

"I was disgusted as anybody should be," Clavin said.

The leaflets list numerous heads of media companies who are Jewish and it said "We non-Jews have been targeted relentlessly for decades and centuries."

Clavin knows the sheets are unequivocally anti-Semitic.

"They're also cowards. They're doing it under the cover of darkness so nobody can see who they are," Clavin said.

This comes a month after similar-themed flyers were found in Rockville Centre and Oceanside and a month before the Jewish High Holy Days.

"Councilman [Anthony] D'Esposito, who's a former detective, he and I spoke yesterday. We directed our head of public safety to up patrols of houses of worship, and in particular when the High Holy Days come," he said. "Our public safety department will work with the great Nassau County Police Department to give more a presence."

Clavin urges anyone who receives the anti-Semitic flyers to contact police.
