Weekend Fun Pick: 35th Annual Family Festival By The Sea
The event will be held at Lido Beach Town Park.

The Town of Hempstead’s annual Family Festival by the Sea will take place at Lido Beach Town Park (at 630 Lido Boulevard) on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The details:
Ride a “wave” of fun and excitement to the 35th Annual Family Festival By The Sea, featuring live concerts, great food, craft and novelty vendors, clam-eating and rib-eating contests, sand sculptures, and more! The festival’s youthful flavor is highlighted by puppet shows, circus performers, animal acts, pony rides, a petting zoo and Cool Science exhibits. Two great children’s acts are also featured, “Monkey, Monkey Music” and “Darlene Graham.” Guests can also stroll the boardwalk to water’s edge to “dig” the sand castle contest, “wave” to surfers in Saturday’s competitive tournament or cheer on the athletes in Sunday’s Biathlon. K98.3’s popular morning team “Steve & Leeana” will be on hand Saturday to meet their fans and spin the station’s wheel of prizes. Anyone interested in entering the Clam Eating or Rib Eating contests can call (516) 812-3307. Free admission and free parking.
