Woman Attacked, Groped By Man While Walking On Nassau Street

Police say the man was trying to rob her, and then groped her after she said she didn't have any money.

CEDARHURST, NY — A woman was assaulted and groped while walking in Cedarhurst Thursday evening, Nassau police say.

According to police, the 32-year-old woman was walking west on Broadway, near Adelberg Lane, at 5:33 p.m. When she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man. The man grabbed her around the neck, threw her to the ground and demanded money.

The woman told the man she didn't have any money, and the man touched her inappropriately, police said. A woman driving by saw the incident and honked her horn, causing the man to run north on Adelberg Lane.

Police ask anyone with information about this attack to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
