Woodmere Middle School Kiwanis Builders Club in Action

The Woodmere Kiwanis Builders Club was chartered in October 2016 and is sponsored by the Peninsula Kiwanis Club of Hewlett, NY.

This school year the Woodmere Middle School Kiwanis Builders Club has held three fund raisers and one food and cleaning supplies drive. They began the year by raising funds for the Kiwanis UNICEF Eliminate project. For their second project, a food drive was conducted for hurricane victims. The club then sold bracelets for “Golden Heroes Boxes”. The group sends boxes with toys, games and drawing materials to children undergoing cancer treatment in hospitals. For their third fund raiser club members sold carnations for Valentine’s Day to raise money for SIBS (Survivorship in Brothers and Sisters). The money they raised for SIBS will be used for South Nassau Community Hospital’s program providing emotional support for children who have a brother or sister with a serious illness.
