Woodmere's Dr. Judy Olshin Named New Director of Dentistry

Nonprofit Charles Evans Center recently named Judy Olshin, D.D.S. its news Director of Dentistry.

April 12, 2018; Woodmere, N.Y. – Judy Olshin, D.D.S. of Woodmere has been appointed the new Director of Dentistry of The Charles Evans Center (CEC), an Article 28 licensed health care facility operating as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

In her new role, Dr. Olshin is responsible for improving access to dental care as well as developing new relationships within the community. In addition to quality dental services, the Center provides comprehensive state-of-the-art medical care to those with special needs and to medically underserved populations.

“The Board of Directors and I welcome Dr. Judy Olshin as she joins the professional staff of the Charles Evans Center,” said Anne Emmerson, Ed.D., Chairperson of the Board of Directors. “Dr. Olshin’s professional experience and her passion for providing exceptional, high-quality dental healthcare to children and adults with special needs makes her a valuable addition to our team.”

Dr. Olshin is a board-certified dentist with more than 18 years of experience. She previously served as Dental Director at Advantage Care Health Centers in Brookville, NY. Prior to that she had a private practice in Woodmere, NY. She is currently an attending dentist at Northwell Health North Shore University Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center since 2004. While she has substantial experience treating all types of patients and dental conditions, Dr. Olshin works extensively with patients who have intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Dr. Olshin is an active member of several dental associations, including the Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Dental Task Force and is a peer reviewer for the Academy of General Dentistry.

The Charles Evans Center has two locations – one in Nassau County in Bethpage where the campus of Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities (ACLD) is located and another in Suffolk County based in Hauppauge, NY. Its healthcare services include: Family Medicine, Gynecology, Neurology, Podiatry, Dentistry, Behavioral and Mental Health, Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work and Case Management. Overseen by culturally sensitive, credentialed medical staff, the Center’s high-quality primary and specialty services are provided regardless of a patient’s background or ability to pay.

With an emphasis on quality patient-centered care, Dr. Olshin aims to make Charles Evans Center the premier resource for dental healthcare in the Long Island community.

Dr. Olshin resides in Woodmere, NY with her husband and their three children.

Charles Evans Center grew out of Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD), a leading Long Island based not-for-profit agency devoted to supporting the pursuit of an enviable life for children and adults with autism, learning and developmental disabilities. As the Article 28 licensed primary medical care extension, CEC is dedicated to using its knowledge of best practices to enhance access to healthcare services and improve health outcomes for this vulnerable population across Long Island, New York. Founded in 1957, Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit agency. Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2017, the organization continues to provide opportunities for children and adults with autism, learning and other developmental disabilities to pursue enviable lives, increase independence and foster supportive relationships within the community.
