QUEENS, NY — Mayor Zohran Mamdani and NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura announced two special-edition overnight camping events at the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
The event will offer 200 New Yorkers a free night of camping under the stars.
The camping trips will be hosted by the Urban Park Rangers, and will take place on September 25 and October 9, with 100 participants welcomed each night.
Families will be selected through an online lottery, open September 10–13.
Dinner and breakfast will also be available for purchase from a food truck, while families may bring their own food and snacks.
The new events expand NYC Parks' long-running Family Camping program, bringing an outdoor camping experience to one of Queens' best-known landmarks.
New Yorkers can register through the NYC Parks website.
