Alleged Aqueduct Thief Caught in Pennsylvania
After brazen robbery, suspect run down at the end of a multi-state manhunt.

An alleged armed robber accused of stealing more than $60,000 from the was caught in Pennsylvania, the Queens District Attorney said Wednesday.
Kevin Lides, of Briarwood, is accused of walking into the brand-new casino at the Aqueduct Racetrack and passing a note to a teller in a cashier's cage on the second floor.

After passing the teller the note, Lides allegedly put his hand up his shirt, indicating that he had a gun, and told the cashier he would kill her if she did not hand over her cash drawer.
The teller produced $63,000 in cash, which Lides put in a plastic bag before walking out of the casino.

Police identified Lides after finding a fingerprint on the note. He was also caught on numerous casino security cameras.
“The defendant is accused of brazenly walking into a crowded casino on a Friday afternoon and demanding money," District Attorney Richard Brown said. "The odds of getting away with such an alleged crime were stacked against him, and his long overdue arrest proves the old adage: you can run but you cannot hide.”
The 23-year-old suspect is awaiting transfer back to Queens in a jail cell in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
