Alternate Side Parking Suspended for Oct. 1 and 2

Drivers will not need to move their cars as city observes Sukkot.

Alternate side parking has been suspended on Oct. 1 and 2 in observance of Sukkot, according to the city's Department of Transportation.

Drivers will not need to move their vehicles, but parking meters will still be in effect. So don't forget the quarters if you go out. Actually, I don't think the meters take quarters anymore, so you can just carry on as normal.

Sukkot follows Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, and is a seven-day festival that commemorates the 40 years in which the Jews wandered in the desert. It is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles.
