Bites Nearby: Austin's Steak & Ale House
Great pub grub and drink options with specials galore, especially during football season.
Austin’s Steak & Ale House has been a special place to enjoy top-notch gastronomic cuisine and libation in a cozy pub setting since its founding in 1991.
The Kew Gardens establishment lives up to the first part of its name with delicious and varied hamburger options, tangy chicken wings, huge steaks and countless seafood, chicken, soup and salad options. And as to the latter half of its moniker, Austin’s has one of the largest beer selections in the borough with about 20 beers on tap and 60 bottled selections.
Then there are the specials, which certainly emphasize the steak and ale motifs. On Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., any airline employee can enjoy two-for-one drinks at the bar. After a bit of sleep, all patrons can wake up to Sunday morning brunch specials from noon to 4 p.m. that begin at $15.95.
