Bites Nearby: Manor Oktoberfest Of Forest Hills
Countless Options For Sausages, Beer And Wine
The Bites Nearby column agrees with the phrase: “When in Rome, do as the Romans.” Similarly, the column supports “doing as the Bavarians when in Bavaria,” the region of southwest Germany which is known for its many kinds of sausage, beer, wine and lederhosen, breeches made of leather that are usually short or knee-length.
The same theory holds true for Manor Oktoberfest Forest Hills, a restaurant inspired Bavarian cuisine and culture, but located on Yellowstone Boulevard. Enjoy all the wonderful food and drink, but dress as you please.
First, the beverages. The draft beer options include Franziskaner Weissbier, Hofbräu Original, Köstritzer Schwarzbier, Radeberger Pilsner, Spaten Oktoberfest, Stiegl Goldbräu, Weihenstaphen Dunkel Weiss and Fire Island Lighthouse Ale.

The Nearby Bites column suggests going German with the sandwiches, too. The Oktoberfest Bratwurst or Chicken Bratwurst is served on a club roll with sauerkraut and potato salad ($9). Or there’s the Schnitzel Cordon Bleu, which features tender pork cutlet with Black Forest ham, imported Swiss and horseradish sauce served on a club roll ($14). Another possibility is the Braunschweiger, liverwurst on seedless rye with raw onion ($9.5).
