After renovation and menu upgrade, restaurant re-opens with specials.
Thai food on Queens Boulevard just got an upgrade…and a new name.
About a month ago, the former Swaddee restaurant underwent a transformation of menu (61 alternatives on the dinner menu, 17 lunch special choices); and interior design (dark yellow walls, large framed photos, wooden sculptures); and name (it’s now Thai Boulevard).
Along with the renovation, the eatery is running a 20-percent-off dinner deal and a buy two entrees, get two entrees free bargain until Jan. 15, 2012, with coupons. There is also free WiFi with a free drink option and the possibility to receive coupons and other promotions via email.

The most expensive main course meal is $18 with a good variety of grilled, fried, sautéed and stir-fried selections. Plus, diners can order biggie-sized salads and soups as an entrée or smaller versions as an appetizer.
The Curry in Coconut Milk has three tiers: Duck ($14); Shrimp ($12) and Chicken, Pork, Tofu or Vegetables ($9). From the grill, Bites Nearby suggests Tiger Cry Steak ($12), grilled sirloin and steamed vegetables with a tamarind sauce or Salmon ($14), fillet salmon served with a honey chili sauce.

The broad noodle dishes carry a $9 price tag regardless of what they include – Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, Pad Rad Nah -- while the noodle soups are all $8.
Crazy Sea, a seafood combo prepared in a clay pot with onions, mushroom and lemongrass, goes for $14. But patrons might want to consider the fried fish, which can come with chili, sweet-sour, ginger, basil, garlic-black pepper or chuchee curry sauce.
Lunch specials include one appetizer (Thai Steamed Dumpling, Vegetable Spring Roll, Golden Tofu, Green Salad, Soup of the Day) and one entrée (Chicken, Pork, Beef, Tofu with Vegetable) for $7.50. Switch to Shrimp and the price rises to $8.50.
Fried ice cream goes for $5, but all other desserts cost $3.50. This includes green tea, coconut or vanilla ice cream, purple sticky rice and crispy banana with honey.
