Cops Seeking Suspect in Attempted Robbery

Incident on Metropolitan Avenue occurred last week.

are seeking a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery on Metropolitan Avenue last week.

According to information released by the department, a suspect entered the Chase Bank at 74-03 Metropolitan Ave. in Middle Village Aug. 10 at 3:45 p.m and passed a note to a teller.

The note was a demand for cash, but the teller did not fork anything over. After being rebuffed, the suspect decided not to escalate things and high-tailed it out of the bank on foot.

The suspect is described as six-feet-tall and between 175 and 200 pounds. He was wearing an unbuttoned black shirt with a white T-shirt underneath with sunglasses and a baseball cap.
