With 3 singers ranging the gamut from the Metropolitan Opera, the Prairie Home Companion radio show and Washington National Opera, this wonderful program of standards from the 30s and 40s is sure to be outstanding. The performers will be accompanied by Nadia DiGiallonardo, music director/conductor for "Hair" on Broadway and famous for her work as the pianist on the Tony Danza show on ABC.
Set in the beautiful and intimate venue of The-Church-in-the-Gardens, these singers will perform works of Porter, Gershwin and Rodgers, to mention a few. This concert will also include music by Clara Verdone, a long-time Forest Hills native and songwriter celebrating her 90th birthday.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door. This will be a first-come, first-served event, so plan to come a little earlier to purchase your tickets as seating is limited. If you are driving, please get a parking permit at the door to place on your dashboard which will allow you to park on the streets nearby for the duration of the concert.
