Description:
Unity Stage Company is founding a youth performance chorus, like “Glee,” to be based in Queens, NY.
Young people ages eight through eighteen learn sight-reading, improve their ability to focus in all areas of study, and enjoy singing great Broadway and pop music in addition to traditional songs from around the world, all under the direction of renowned choral director Robert René Galván.
Choral sessions take place on Saturdays from 12pm to 1:30pm at Queen of Angels Auditorium in Sunnyside, Queens, NY, easily accessible via several bus lines and #7 local train. There is free street parking in the neighborhood.
“Cantíamo (Italian for “We Sing”) Youth Chorus of Queens is non-sectarian and brings together youth from diverse cultural, economic and religious backgrounds to experience the excitement of performing at city functions and a variety of sporting and holiday events, with the goal of eventually participating in concert competitions around the world.
Cantíamo YCQ sessions begin Saturday September 24. AUDITION OPPORTUNITIES ARE ON-GOING THROUGH MID-OCTOBER.
