Queens: Members of the Con Brio Ensemble will be performing works by Bruch,Turina and Brahms on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 4:30 PM at the Church in the Gardens,
50 Ascan Avenue (3 blocks south of Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills) to open its annual three concert subscription series at the church, which recently purchased an exceptionally fine Steinway concert grand piano for its sanctuary.

Critically acclaimed violinist, Anton Miller: violist, Rita Porfiris cellist, André Emelianoff, and pianist, Diana Mittler-Battipaglia will perform Bruch-Four Pieces for Violin,Viola and Piano ; Turina -Piano Quartet in A minor opus 67 and Brahms-Piano Quartet in G minor opus 25 with its famous Gypsy rondo.. Anton Miller and Rita Porfiris are Professors of Violin and Viola at the Hartt College of Music and NYU; André Emelianoff is Professor of Cello and Chamber Music at the Juilliard School ;Diana Mittler-Battipaglia is Professor of Music and Choral Director at Lehman College-CUNY.
This concert is made possible in part by the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the the Queens Council on the Arts. Celebrating its 33nd season, the Con Brio Ensemble performs annual series in Queens and Manhattan and is currently in residence at Lehman College-CUNY in the Bronx.
Admission to the concert will be $12.00 ($ 10.00 for students and senior citizens)
