Fall 2013 Flamenco & Spanish Dance Classes for Kids & Adults in Astoria

American Bolero Dance Company’s Spanish Dance School is offering courses in Flamenco and Spanish Dance for adults and children, ages 4 and up, during it’s 11-week Fall session from Monday, September 16 until Monday, December 16.  Classes take place in Queens, NY at Sol Dance Center in the heart of Astoria’s main commercial street.

American Bolero Dance Company is a non-for profit arts organization with the mission to preserve and present Spanish dance and music in its various forms.  Gabriela Granados, Artistic Director and Founder of both, the company and its school, is the primary choreographer and head of the dance faculty.  Instructors at the School are trained in Ms. Granados’ dance method, a unique educational approach that follows a comprehensive age-based syllabus and combines elements of Flamenco, Ballet, Spanish Classical and Regional Folkloric Dances, and Character Dance.  Castanet playing is also taught as part of students’ regular coursework.

Performing opportunities are available to serious and dedicated students.

Private and Semi-Private instruction can be arranged upon request.

CLASS SCHEDULE (11-week Fall Session)

MONDAYS (9/16/2013 – 12/16/2013):

• Adult Beginner Flamenco - 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (a minimum of 4 registered students required for the class to proceed.  Please contact American Bolero to confirm your attendance)

TUESDAYS (9/17/2013 – 12/10/2013):

• Teens Intermediate Flamenco/Spanish Dance (ages 12 & up) - 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
• Advanced Flamenco/Spanish Dance Adults/Teens (ages 16 - Adult) - 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (proficiency in castanet playing is required)

SATURDAYS (9/21/2013 – 12/14/2013):

• Pre-Flamenco (ages 5-6 & up) - 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
• Kids and Pre-Teens Flamenco/Spanish Dance (ages 8-10) - 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
• Teens Intermediate Flamenco/Spanish Dance (ages 12 & up) - 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm

PRICES (for the 11-week course)

CHILDREN'S TUITION:

• 1st Class - $201
• 2nd Class - add $110

Families with more than one child or student registered:

• 1st student - $201
• 2nd student - $168

A TRIAL CLASS is offered to new students for $20. This is considered a first day deposit if the student is then registered. Balance is due on the second day of classes.

ADULT TUITION:

• Single Class - $20
• 1st Class - $201 (full 11-wk course)
• 2nd Class - add $110 (full 11-wk course)
