Forest Hills Skid Row in Prime Form – Litter, Garbage & Grafitti

Austin St. Pedestrian Underpass is a DISGRACE of Graffiti & Deterioration - Where are the so-called "leaders"???

Welcome to another addition of Forest Hills Skid Row, with wonderful sights of garbage, litter and graffiti, along with cheap plastic bottles of alcohol everywhere, the breakfast of champions of the homeless, who
somehow managed to scrape up money for that, but anything else like a roof over their head or cleaning up their act, well that is the responsibility of others in this new America, where my bad actions and
behavior are YOUR PROBLEM, NOT MINE.

Since November, Community Board 6, Queens BP Melinda Katz, Councilmember Karen Koslowitz, DOS and others have been informed several times about the condition of the Austin Street Pedestrian Underpass that is
plastered with graffiti, the deterioration of the inside top, litter/garbage constantly being dumped and a clog drain, that makes walking up the set of stairs to Kew Garden almost impossible unless you have rubber boots. Not too mention the empty cheap plastic bottles of alcohol, which is obvious that this location is a hangout for our wonderful single homeless men from the Comfort Inn hotel/homeless shelter.

And not only is litter not being properly cleaned up from some of the businesses (Chase Bank, Starbucks and FED EX) on Forest Hills Skid Row, but the medial strips at Queens Blvd and 78 Ave have had garbage piled
up for months and months. While I will give Chase Bank a pass, since it is Sunday and they are not opened, what is the excuse of Starbucks and FED EX which have been opened for hours and not one employer cleaned up the messes in front of their respective businesses.

I mean look at the prices of homes/co-ops and condos in Forest Hills. For these prices we should be able to eat off the sidewalks and streets and not have to walk through a pedestrian underpass littered with
graffiti, major puddles of water due to clogged drains and a ceiling that is falling apart (now where have I heard that before, oh yes, the Lefferts Bridge in Kew Gardens which that mess has been ignored for years and years by everyone, including the hack elected officials who are only talking about it now).

In the meantime, crime can be seen all around Forest Hills and as these issues keep being ignored, the Comfort Inn continues to be a homeless shelter and the possibility of a jail in Kew Gardens down the road,
Forest Hills may well be called Little Jamaica Queens, you know that community of garbage on every block, high crime and every other negligent quality of life issues that has made that community the Wild Wild West of Queens. So is the future of Forest Hills / Kew Gardens in the future, I mean we already have a monstrous problematic hotel/homeless shelter and a future jail down the road. THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
