Forest Hills: Your Lowest Gas Prices

At a time of year when gas prices tend to hit wallets the hardest, gas prices spiked by around ten cents in Forest Hills this week, the highest increase since Forest Hills Patch started keeping track of prices in the area.

The increase comes at an inopportune time for families in the area, as an increase in staples like gas prices can hinder a family's purchasing power during the holiday shopping season.

For this week, the lowest gas prices were once again available at on Metropolitan Avenue. The price of $3.199 for a gallon of regular unleaded represented a large jump over last week, but is still the lowest available in the Forest Hills area.

Premium-grade gasoline is available at it's lowest price of $3.459 at the Getty Station in Rego Park, located at 75-41 Yellowstone Boulevard. The Getty there is a full-service station, but still boasted the lowest prices on premium-grade fuel that's easily accessible for Forest Hills residents.

The Mobil station at 68-27 Woodhaven Boulevard in Rego Park, right across the street from the full-service Getty station, has the best price on a gallon of diesel fuel, coming in at $3.799 a gallon.
