Forest Park 5K Benefit Walk Helping NYC Victims of Human Trafficking

Join your community for a 5K benefit walk on 10/24 to raise awareness and funds for helping victims of human trafficking

Join your community for a 5K benefit walk in Forest Park on October 24, 2015 to raise awareness and funds for helping victims of human trafficking in the New York area.

The walk, ”Going Beyond ‘Awareness’ to ACTION,” will begin at 10:30 a.m. with participants meeting at the My Buddy Statue in Forest Park, near the intersection of Park Lane and Myrtle Ave. There will be refreshments for all involved.

The benefit walk is hosted by Life Academy, a Colorado-based nonprofit with a mission of helping at-risk populations. Life Academy Founder Paul Palmisano visits his hometown of New York City frequently, as well as other cities across the country, as a front-line worker of helping victims of human trafficking. Palmisano offers these people an escape, and has helped dozens get off the street.

Funds from the event will go towards the Life Academy’s hands-on missionary work for the victims of human trafficking and at-risk population. Please join us in helping us change these people’s lives.

If interested in participating, please reach out to the New York coordinator, Nicole at Nicole.Smith911@yahoo.com. If you’re unable to get involved, please still consider donating at Life Academy’s Go Fund Me page, or reaching out for more details about the work.
