GallopNYC expands to SIX locations in NYC - needs volunteers

Letting people know how to volunteer with GallopNYC, a therapeutic riding program for people with disabilities in NYC.

GallopNYC is offering greatly expanded therapeutic horsemanship programs at several riding
site, as well as riding for the general public. “We have over 900 people on our waiting lists,
and Gemini Fields will enable us to expand and offer lessons to many more people with
disabilities in NYC,” said Alicia Kershaw, Executive Director of GallopNYC.

New York City’s leader in therapeutic horsemanship, GallopNYC brings the proven benefits
of working with horses to children and adults with disabilities in NYC. GallopNYC received
the NYC Mayor’s Award for service to people with disabilities in 2012 and the Brooke
Mahoney Award for Board Excellence in 2016. GallopNYC was recently profiled in NY1’s
New Yorker of the Week, August 22, 2015 and in the NY Times in May 2016.

GallopNYC has lessons at Gemini Stables in Lindenwood, Queens; Bowling Green in Prospect Park; Lynne’s Riding Center in Forest Hills, Queens; Jamaica Bay Riding Academy; Bronx Equestrian Center in Pelham Bay Park; and Riverdale Stables in Van Cortland Park.
