Driving in southern Queens just got a little riskier for drivers with outstanding tickets.

Have you got some outstanding tickets in that car of yours? You'd better be careful driving in southern Queens, according to the New York Daily News.
Starting this week, the paper reported Tuesday, the city's new smartboot program will be keeping drivers with outstanding tickets off the road until they pay up.
Paylock, the parking enforcement company has been given the green light to boot cars in neighborhoods that make up Patrol Borough Queens South, the paper said.

Forest Hills is located in Patrol Borough Queens North, but neighborhoods like Richmond Hill, Ozone Park and Woodhaven are all fair game for the boot now, and they're just on the other side of
Under the program, cars with outstanding tickets totalling more than $350 can be booted. Booted drivers can call a number to have the apparatus automatically released — assuming they pay their fine. They are then tasked with dropping off the equipment at a designated return center.
