Mass. Man Pleads Guilty in Local Stabbing Death
Victim was stabbed multiple times in 2009 attack.

A Massachusetts man pleaded guilty in Queens Criminal Court Tuesday in the 2009 stabbing death of a Forest Hills resident.
Alexys Fermaintt, 33, of Holyoke, Mass., entered a guilty plea earlier this week after his arrest in June 2009. He has been held without bail since that time. He was charged with one count of first-degree manslaughter.
“The guilty plea is a measure of justice for the victim’s familyin that they will be spared the trauma of hearing all the gruesome details of the killing at trial whilebeing assured that the person responsible for this brutal attack on their loved one will serve a lengthyprison sentence," District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Fermaintt, according to the criminal complaint, stabbed Forest Hills resident Michael Pecora inside his 65th Street apartment after an argument. He then took Pecora's laptop and cell phone before fleeing the apartment.
Fermaintt is set for sentencing — likely a 20-year sentence, the District Attorney said — next month.
