Thousands Expected at May 7 Event at York College
Hiring managers will take applications for hundreds of non-uniform career-track jobs – from cooks and mechanics to social workers and attorneys – at the New York City Department of Correction’s first agency-wide career fair on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at York College.
Qualified candidates may be eligible for on-the-spot interviews. More than 1,000 applicants have pre-registered for the free event, which is open to all. It will take place at York College, 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Blvd., Jamaica, N.Y. 11451.
As the Department of Correction celebrates 120 years of serving the City of New York, the career fair provides an unprecedented opportunity to match talented New Yorkers with hundreds of open roles.
