Opening Day for the Mets!

After an off-season with quite a few embarrassing episodes for the home team, baseball season will begin anew today, hopefully erasing some of the more recent scars.

Yes, they may have lost shortstop Jose Reyes to the Marlins, and yes, the team's ownership may be teetering on the brink of financial insolvency, but what's baseball if not an opportunity to overcome incredible odds? Didn't you ever see Major League?!

Whatever your thoughts on the Mets this season, baseball in Queens will begin again at 1:15 p.m. today when the team takes to the diamond against the Atlanta Braves at CitiField.
