Play Ball! Forest Hills Little League Holds Opening Day

Hundreds of local residents come out to support youth sports.

With a beaming sun and a general feel that spring has finally sprung, the Forest Hills Little League opened the 2011 season on Saturday.

Attended by more than 700 local residents, the ceremony featured everything from a color guard to heartfelt speeches to a special award presentation to a hero firefighter who pulled a 12-year-old boy from a burning house.

And of course, Patch was there. Please see the accompanying photos and read their captions to get more information on the opening day event.
