Police Seeking Church Thieves In 110 Precinct

Suspects broke into church and stole valuables used in religious ceremonies.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the person responsible for a deplorable theft from St. Bartholomew Church in the 110 Precinct last month.

Sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 and 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, an unknown person broke into the church and stole several valuable articles crucial to Sunday services.

The missing objects include a pair of communion chalices, carrying case and more.

The church, located at 43-22 Ithaca St. in Elmhurst, has been forced to use other means to carry out religious ceremonies since the theft late last month.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of the items, or the identity of the persons who may have carried out the crime, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers.
