$458K Stolen From BK Children's Nonprofit By Former Director: DA
The Fort Greene man took thousands from the bank accounts of Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York, which he once led, the DA said.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — The former executive director of a Fort Greene children's nonprofit could go to jail for 15 years for stealing hundreds of thousands from the organization, prosecutors said.
Malick Fall, 39, was arraigned Thursday on grand larceny charges after he allegedly stole more than $458,000 from Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York in Fort Greene, which he once led.
Fall made six transfers from the nonprofit's accounts into other unauthorized bank accounts over nine months in 2015 and 2016, prosecutors said. About $404,000 of the embezzled money was put into his own personal accounts.

“This defendant allegedly embezzled money from a nonprofit whose mission is to help disadvantaged youth in our community reach their full potential," Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said. "He not only abused his position as an executive by his alleged criminal actions, but also betrayed the trust of the organization he was supposed to lead.”
The organization discovered the transfers when they did an audit of the funds, prosecutors said, and asked NYPD to step in. Fall denied knowledge of the transfers.

He was charged with three counts of second-degree grand larceny and four counts of third-degree grand larceny. If he is convicted of the top count, prosecutors said, he could go to jail for 15 years.
Fall is being held on a $250,000 bond or $100,000 cash bail and will return to court in February.
