Anne Hathaway Geeks Out Spotting Mariah Carey At Premiere

"No, no, it's fine, it's fine, I'm going to meet her when the time's right," Hathaway said, eyeing Carey during Manhattan event.

“I’m freaking out,” Hathaway told a reporter.

“She’s two arm lengths away right now,” Hathaway said, looking out of the corner of her eye at the nearby Mariah Carey, who was oblivious to the situation.

The typically composed Hathaway, who was briefly a Dumbo resident last year, began jumbling her words while describing Carey’s hairstyle: “It’s just the best glamorous ever.”

Hathaway caught herself, adding, “That’s not even a sentence. There’s no grammar there, ‘the best glamorous ever.’”

As the interview went on, Hathaway continued taking note of Carey’s advance down the red carpet.

“She’s now an arm length away,” Hathaway said.

The reporter supported Hathaway, telling her that it was Hathaway’s time to meet Carey.

“No, no, it’s fine, it’s fine, I’m going to meet her when the time’s right,” Hathaway said.

It’s unclear if Hathaway did end up meeting Carey last night. Here’s hoping that the time was, in fact, “right.”
