Arts and Activism: An Open Community Forum

Discussion Panelists:

  • Raven Rakia, filmmaker and journalist
  • Brooke McGowen, Radical Art Initiative
  • Professor Louie, spoken word performer and political rapper
What is the purpose of the artist? Is it to shake and shape the consciousness of others? Or to capture stories of those who have done so?

Do you want your work to change people and the world? If so, do you think of it as propaganda?

Have you noticed that some of your works have sparked or affected people in stronger ways than other works? Why do you think this is?

This forum is free and open to the public. Light snacks provided.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.

Hosted by the Brooklyn For Peace Arts and Culture Committee
