Atlantic Terminal Signal Problems Stall LIRR Trains Before Rush Hour Monday: MTA
Signal problems caused the MTA to suspend LIRR service between Atlantic Terminal and Jamaica Queens.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Long Island Railroad service was suspended between Atlantic Terminal and Jamaica just before rush hour Monday, the MTA announced.
Signal problems at Atlantic Terminal caused the MTA to stop LIRR trains from running between the transit hubs in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, and Jamaica, Queens, on Monday around 4 p.m., the agency announced on its website.
The MTA said it would allow LIRR customers to enter the subway for free at Penn Station in Manhattan, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens and Jamaica in Queens, and Broadway Junction and Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn.

LIRR customers were warned to expect delays after the 4:16 p.m. from Atlantic Terminal to Babylon was cancelled and two Far Rockaway trains due to leave Atlantic Terminal at 3:36 p.m. and 3:56 p.m. were rerouted to the Jamaica station.
