Design is always inspired by the obvious: a fantastically done room/home; fashion fashion fashion; an outrageous hue of a favorite color. But, great design can also find roots in the unexpected.
I am not a fan of anything reptilian in nature. Nothing. But, during a recent visit to a pet store, I saw such beautiful combinations of color and pattern designed by the Mother of design, Nature. Each of my reptile friends gave me a fresh view of the color and pattern they are known for and made me re-think the re-design of my own home.
Mr. Black and Cream, Mr. Golden Beige in Repose and Mr. Smug Green are all followed by accessories and rooms that could serve as a finished product of their colors and details.
During your travels this holiday weekend, take a moment to really look at that old old ridiculously old rusted car, that weather worn graffiti strewn building, the grate patterns in the subway ceiling tiles...it might inspire your next bathroom, kitchen or kids room.
