Celebrate Women's Health at Simon's Newport Centre with 'PAINT THE MALL PINK' Events
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Simon malls across the country are marking the occasion with 'Paint the Mall Pink'

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Newport Centre and other Simon malls across the country are marking the occasion with Paint the Mall Pink, a community-based grassroots program featuring educational displays, health fairs, retailer offerings, special events and other activities that promote women’s health. The month long program at Newport Centre is being sponsored by Carepoint Health.
“As an integral part of the community, we want to be a resource for the health issues that affect women and their families,” said Jill Daniel, director of marketing and business development at Newport Centre. “We are honored to host a variety of ‘pink-themed’ activities during the month.”
Activities and events planned for Paint the Mall Pink at Newport Centre include the following:

Simon Kidgits Club “Think Pink” Event – Saturday, October 4.
From 12-2 p.m. in Center Court, Simon Kidgits Club members are invited to participate in various activities that encourage them to “Think Pink.” Each member will receive a goody bag and will have the opportunity to win fantastic prizes.
Health & Wellness Fair – Saturday, October 18.
Carepoint Health staff will be on hand from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Center Court offering healthcare information and free health screenings.

Fashion Walk of Hope – Saturday, October 18.
Dr. Robbie Kempner, the Director of Breast Surgery at Carepoint Health Breast Center will kick-off our annual Fashion Walk of Hope at 2 p.m. in Center Court. This event showcases courageous breast cancer survivors as they model the latest fashions provided by Macy’s, show off their polished look courtesy of Sephora and flaunt their fabulous hairstyles creations by V & C Image Salon.
In addition, throughout the month of October, Newport Centre’s Ribbon of Hope will be on display in Center Court where everyone is invited to write a message of inspiration, hope or tribute to a breast cancer survivor on a pink paper ribbon and place it on the giant ribbon. Newport Centre retailers will also be offering special discounts and promotions throughout the month. Look for a decal in storefront windows for participating retailers.
